Hello everybody!
You should all have finished your timings now and be moving onto the next stage of your music video production.
This module runs until christmas, so you must all be disciplined with your timings from now on.
In order to receive a mark for this unit, you must provide;
* Evidence of planning and research: each of you needs to have at least one update per lesson on blogger, detailing what progress your group has made and YOUR OWN SPECIFIC ROLE in that progress.
* A treatment, showing a three paragraph outline of the storyline for your video. I recommend you include a certain amount of the band / artist performing, as this will be much easier to film.
* A shooting script containing the camera angles required for each scene in your film. If you are not sure of the names of shots required, check out Guillaume Sabourin's excellent video Camera Angles and Shots on Youtube, URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwbsYgZ7d-8.
For each scene, you need to provide a scene heading, a brief description of the shot and any relevant mise-en-scéne. Below are the standard scene headings, which you can adapt as necessary:
1- INT. CLASSROOM. DAY
2- EXT. PLAYGROUND. NIGHT
3- INT / EXT. CLASSROOM / PLAYGROUND (INTERCUT). DAY.
Int. means Interior (inside shot). Ext. means Exterior (outside shot). Intercut means a scene where you are cutting between the two shots in a scene, for instance if two people are talking to each other through a window, or are on the phone to each other from two different places.
* A storyboard. I have templates for this. it is like a comic strip for your film, showing potential cameramen a typical image from each scene and the information required to shoot each scene.
* Test shots. You need to provide a series of images (these can be photos) providing typical and key images for these scenes. I CAN HELP YOU WITH THIS- ASK ME FOR EXAMPLES.
You all need to work out your individual role in this: cameraman, director, editor etc. IT IS A MODULE REQUIREMENT that you have a clearly defined role.
The minimum each group needs by first lesson next term is completed timings, a treatment and at least one clear log entry detailing your work so far.
